Beginner's guide

How to buy and store your collectible.

Never bought an NFT before? You are in the right place. This guide walks you through every step in plain language. The short version: you buy with a normal card, and we handle all the blockchain parts for you. No crypto, wallet, or jargon required to get started.

First, what is a collectible here?

A MintNoir collectible is a piece of original digital art that is registered on a public ledger called a blockchain. That registration is what people call an NFT (a non-fungible token) - a permanent, tamper-proof record that says "this specific piece belongs to this owner." Think of it as a numbered, signed print, where the certificate of authenticity lives on the internet instead of on paper.

You are buying it because you like it and want to own it - not as an investment. What makes it special is that ownership is provable by anyone, forever, and it cannot be quietly copied or faked.

Buying it, step by step

01

Create your account

Sign up with just an email and password. No wallet, no crypto, nothing technical. This account is where your collectibles live until you decide to move them.

02

Pick a piece

Browse the collection and choose the one you want. Each piece is one-of-a-kind, with its own rarity and price.

03

Pay by card

Check out with a normal payment method - Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Apple Pay or Google Pay. You pay in regular money. There is nothing crypto-related for you to buy or configure.

04

We mint it on-chain

Once your payment clears, we create ("mint") your collectible on the Polygon blockchain and pay the network fees for you. This is the moment it officially becomes yours, recorded publicly and permanently.

05

It is delivered to you

Your new piece appears in your account. You choose how to keep it: leave it safely in our custody, or send it to your own wallet. Both are explained below.

06

Show it off

Ownership is public, so you can view and verify your piece on blockchain explorers and marketplaces at any time - proof that it is genuinely yours.

The purchase, in detail

Exactly what happens when you buy - and exactly what you pay.

Accepted paymentVisa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover cards, plus Apple Pay and Google Pay.
Your card stays safePayments are handled by a PCI-DSS-compliant payment provider. MintNoir never sees or stores your full card number.
Placing your orderChoose how you want it delivered (custody or your own wallet), confirm the short acknowledgments, and pay. You receive an order reference straight away.
Minting & deliveryAs soon as your payment clears we mint the piece on-chain and pay the gas - usually within a few minutes. It then appears in your account under "My collectibles", or is sent to your wallet address if you chose wallet delivery.
Confirmation & receiptYou receive an email confirmation, and every order stays visible in your account history.
Buying more than oneEach piece is one-of-one, so there is no quantity selector - you simply buy each individual piece you want.

Where your collectible is stored

There are two ways to hold it. You can switch at any time.

Option A - Keep it in custody (easiest)

We hold your collectible securely on your behalf, linked to your account. This is perfect if you are new: there is nothing to install, no keys to protect, and nothing you can lose. You still own the piece - you can withdraw it to your own wallet whenever you want. It is like leaving a valuable in a trusted vault instead of carrying it around.

Option B - Move it to your own wallet

A crypto wallet is a free app that holds your collectibles under keys only you control - full self-custody. Choose this if you want to hold the piece completely independently, or move it to a marketplace. You will need to set a wallet up first (below), then paste its address when you withdraw.

Setting up your own wallet (optional)

Only needed if you choose Option B. It takes a few minutes and is free.

  1. 1

    Install a wallet app

The most common is MetaMask (metamask.io) as a browser extension or phone app. Other good options include Coinbase Wallet or Rainbow. Only download from the official website or app store.

  2. 2

    Create the wallet

The app generates your wallet and a "recovery phrase" (also called a seed phrase) - a list of 12 words.

  3. 3

    Save your recovery phrase safely

Write those 12 words on paper and keep them somewhere private. They are the master key to your wallet. Anyone who has them can take everything, and if you lose them, no one - not even us - can recover your wallet. Never type them into a website or share them with anyone.

  4. 4

    Add the Polygon network

Our collectibles live on Polygon. Modern wallets add it automatically, or you can add it in one click from a site like chainlist.org. You do not need to buy anything to receive a collectible.

  5. 5

    Copy your wallet address

Your address is a public string starting with "0x...". It is safe to share - it is like an account number for receiving items. Paste it into the withdraw screen in your MintNoir account and your piece is sent to you on-chain.

Golden rule: your recovery phrase is the only thing that matters. Protect those 12 words and never share them. MintNoir will never ask for them.

Common questions

What currency are prices in, and are there any extra fees?

Prices are in US dollars. Your total is the piece price plus a single "network + service fee" shown at checkout, covering blockchain gas and card processing. There is nothing else to pay, and no hidden crypto charges.

Is my card information safe?

Yes. Payments are handled by a PCI-DSS-compliant payment provider. MintNoir never sees or stores your full card number.

How long until I receive my collectible?

Usually a few minutes. Once your payment clears we mint it on-chain right away; it then appears in your account, or in your wallet if you chose wallet delivery.

Will I get an order confirmation or receipt?

Yes - a confirmation email, plus a permanent record in your account's order history.

Can I buy more than one?

Of course. Each piece is one-of-one, so you buy each individual piece you like - there is no limit across the collection.

If I sell it later, are there resale royalties?

The collection carries a 5% creator royalty on secondary sales. Marketplaces that honour royalties apply it automatically when you resell; MintNoir takes no further cut.

Why Polygon - and is it energy-intensive?

Polygon is fast and very low-cost, and it is a proof-of-stake network, so energy use per transaction is minimal - unlike older proof-of-work chains.

What if my payment fails, or I am charged but receive nothing?

An order never completes without a cleared payment, so a failed payment simply mints nothing. In the rare case you are charged without receiving your piece, you get a full refund - see the Refund Policy.
